Spain's top seed Alcaraz dominated the Canadian after breaking serve in game four of the first set before claiming a one set lead following another break of serve in the first set.
Alcaraz then dominated the world number eight in the second set without having to play his most expansive tennis to wrap up the straight set victory in 83 minutes.
"I felt like I could do everything on court," said Alcaraz after the match.
It didn't matter if I did forehand down the line, drop shot or backhand down the line, I felt that everything was going to be in."
The victory sets up a thrilling final encounter in Turin against second seed Italian Jannik Sinner who had defeated Alex de Minaur in straight sets in an earlier clash.
"It's going to be pretty difficult. The level we could play is really, really high, every time we face each other, I think we raise our level to the top," added the 22-year-old.
"Obviously the people are going to be cheering for him, but I will try to be really, really focused on my game and on the things that I have to do."
The Spaniard will be confident heading in the final, having beaten Sinner four times in their five matches this season and has an overall 10-5 win ratio over the Italian.
The two top men's tennis stars will face each other on Sunday.
