ATP Finals: Jannik Sinner continues perfect record after beating Ben Shelton

Jannik Sinner defeated Ben Shelton 6-3, 7-6 in the final round-robin match to advance to the ATP semi-finals for the second consecutive year without losing a set.

The Italian top seed dominated Shelton with his first and second serve, denying the American a solitary break point whilst maintaining the pressure to ease through the first set.

Shelton produced a better serve in the second set but was forced to save a match point in the tenth game before two mini breaks put Sinner back on top in the tie break to hand him his eighth consecutive victory over the world number five.

The ATP rankings second seed will now face seventh-placed Australian star Alex de Minaur in the semi-final on Saturday.

Sinner has now progressed to the semi-finals of the tournament for the third straight year.

The 24-year-old four-time Grand Slam champion has arguably played his best tennis this season after winning five titles in total and will be looking to win his second ATP Finals trophy since 2024.
