Proteas Women targeting series win over India at the Wanderers

Proteas Women seam bowler Tumi Sekhukhune says they will be aiming to wrap up their T20I series against India as soon as possible, as they head to the Wanderers tomorrow.

South Africa arrived in Johannesburg high in confidence after winning the first two of the five-game series, and one more victory would give them an unassailable 3-0 lead with two to play.

Sekhukhune says winning the series early would give them room to experiment a bit more, and see what works for them heading to the World Cup in England in June.

"I think it's very important for us to have a 3-0 tomorrow because we're preparing for the World Cup and we want to take that momentum going into the World Cup," said Sekhukhune.

"Obviously we're trying to do things differently and see if they could work – different combinations, see Suné batting up there [in the order], opening the batting.

"So, I think those are the things we are working towards getting into the World Cup."

The 27-year-old has played a key role with the new ball in this series so far, having taken five wickets in the two matches in Durban, and she revealed what her focus areas have been to try and contribute as much as possible to the team.

"Yeah, I think, as a seam bowler you're just trying to be as consistent as possible and just always keep the pressure on the betters," she added.

"I think my key element is just to hit top of off-stump, keep it simple, not change much, and also because I'm a very slow bowler, just bring in my variations and hopefully that helps me get wickets or break partnerships."
