Proteas fast bowler Kagiso Rabada quickest to 100 wickets in IPL history

Proteas fast bowler Kagiso Rabada smashed a record in the Indian Premier League (IPL) when he became the quickest to reach 100 wickets in the T20 franchise tournament.

Rabada reached the milestone playing for the Punjab Kings against the Gujarat Titans in Mohali, the paceman taking 1-36 in his four overs.

The 27-year-old took the landmark wicket when he removed Wriddhiman Saha in the fifth over of the match but it was not enough as the Punjab Kings lost a thriller by six wickets with one ball remaining.

Rabada reached the milestone in his 64th IPL match, surpassing Sri Lanka legend Lasith Malinga, who achieved the feat in his 70th game.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the fastest Indian to reach 100 wickets in the IPL, is the third fastest overall.

Rashid Khan (83), Amit Mishra (83) and Ashish Nehra (83) tie for fourth place, with Yuzvendra Chahal (84) rounding out the top five.
