Keshav Maharaj and Temba Bavuma win big at Cricket South Africa awards

Maharaj has been in top form with the ball. In the seven Tests between August 2024 and January 2025, the tweaker took 40 wickets, including five-wicket hauls in Chattogram and Gqeberha as well as two four-fors against the West Indies. He was also a key bowler in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where he was South Africa's third-highest wicket-taker.

Proteas captain Temba Bavuma also found himself amongst the awards, scooping the Test player of the Year and SA Fan's Player of the Year accolades. His two hundreds in the home summer - against Sri Lanka in Durban and Pakistan in Cape Town - helped South Africa qualify for the WTC final.

The destructive hitting of Heinrich Klaasen, now retired, saw him grab the ODI Player of the Year Award while paceman Anrich Nortje was named the T20I Player of the Year.

In women's cricket, spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba was selected as the SA Women's Player of the Year and the Women's T20I player of the Year.
