Mabilo served as acting president for 18 months during the suspension of former president Stephen Khanyile, a period she says demonstrated her ability to lead and brought stability to the organisation.
She is hopeful that clubs will opt for continuity and reward the work she did during her tenure.
A taxation lawyer by profession, Mabilo believes her financial expertise, coupled with her passion for athletics and strong educational background, sets her apart from other candidates.
“I did an excellent job as acting president for 18 months and, if I am allowed to continue, I can take CGA even further,” Mabilo told SABC Sport.
Her election manifesto focuses on key areas such as attracting sponsorships, reviewing and amending the constitution, uniting the board, and placing athletes at the centre of decision-making.
Athletics South Africa (ASA) dissolved the CGA board in October and appointed Trevor Fredericks as administrator, paving the way for Saturday’s elections.
Mabilo has emphasised unity, saying she is willing to work with all stakeholders for the good of the province.
“I will make sure that everyone who deserves to be on the CGA board participates and makes a meaningful contribution. I am willing to work with anybody and everybody,” she said.
She also appealed for calm, transparency and fairness during and after the elections.
“My biggest wish for Saturday is that clubs make the right decision, not vote for the sake of voting, but choose leaders who will move CGA forward. Whatever the outcome, I hope it brings positivity, peace and no divisions,” Mabilo added.
She further expressed hope that the CGA elections could set an example for other provinces, free of court cases or protests.
“CGA is a big province, and the ripple effects are significant. I am pleading with clubs to come out in their numbers, make their voices heard, and vote responsibly. I am here to lead, and I am available to serve,” she said.
