IPL: Anrich Nortje leaves Delhi Capitals and returns to SA due to 'personal emergency'

Anrich Nortje has left his Indian Premier League (IPL) side Delhi Capitals and returned to South Africa due to a "personal emergency".

The Capitals confirmed the news in a short statement, saying the Proteas fast bowler will not be available for Saturday's encounter against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The statement said: "Owing to a personal emergency, Delhi Capitals fast bowler Anrich Nortje had to leave for South Africa late on Friday night.

"He will be unavailable for this evening's game against Royal Challengers Bangalore."

The news will come as a big blow to the Capitals who sit at the bottom of the IPL standings having only won three of their nine matches so far this season.

Norjte has picked up seven wickets in eight games this campaign and could be replaced in the staring line-up by fellow Proteas quick Lungi Ngidi.
