IPL: Abhishek Sharma century powers Sunrisers to victory against Delhi

Abhishek Sharma struck a brilliant unbeaten century to help Sunrisers Hyderabad beat beat Delhi Capitals by 47 runs in their Indian Premier League clash at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

After being put in to bat at the toss, Abhishek batted the entire first innings to be 135 not out off just 68 balls that included 10 fours and same amount of sixes.

The India international found good support as opening partner Travis Head scored 39 from 26 deliveries while number 3, and captain, Ishan Kishan made 25 off 13 balls.

Former Proteas international Heinrich Klaasen came to the crease in the 15th over and blazed his to 37 not out off 13 delivers as the Sunrisers posted a mammoth 242-2 in their 20 overs.

The Capitals initially made a good fist of it in the rucn-chase with KL Rahul hitting 37, Nitish Rana 57 and Sameer Rizvi 41.

However, with the required-rate climbing all the time wickets were lost at regular intervals.

Sri Lanka seamer Eshan Malinga finished with figures of 4-32 from four overs as Sunrisers surged to their fourth victory in seven matches this season.
