Fourth T20I between India and Proteas abandoned due to heavy fog

The fourth T20I between India and the Proteas was abandoned without a ball being ball after the umpires deemed the excessive fog was dangerous for the players to take field in Lucknow.

The abandoned result means the Proteas cannot win the series with the home team 2-1 ahead with one game left to play on Friday on Ahmedabad.

India won the first T20I of the five-match series by a comprehensive margin of 101 runs in Cuttack before the tourists hit back with a 51-run victory in Mohali.

The hosts then retook the lead in the series with a seven-wicket win in Dharamsala after the Proteas were bowled out for just 117.

The visitors have opted to chop and change their line-up in all three completed games to test combinations ahead of the T20 World Cup early next year.
