England fast bowling duo on fire as India suffer heaviest ever T20I defeat

Chasing a target of 202, India were bowled out for a paltry 76 in 11.2 overs, their second lowest T20I total, as Tongue finished with figures of 4-28 while Archer took 3-29.

Tongue started the rot by dismissing Abhishek Sharma before Archer accounted for teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who smacked two sixes in his 13 which was the top score for India in the innings.

The wickets continued to tumble at regular intervals with the visitors unable to halt the slide that has now left them 2-0 down in the five-match series with two matches left to play after first game was abandoned due to rain.

England had earlier posted a total of 201-7 in their 20 overs with opener Phil Salt striking an entertaining 70 from just 44 balls while Jos Buttler contributed 36.

Sam Curran gave the innings a late boost with an unbeaten 41 from 24 deliveries that made sure the home side went over the 200-run mark.

England can now wrap up the series with the fourth game set to take place in Bristol on Thursday.
