CSA T20 Challenge: Warriors secure playoff spot after beating the Tuskers

The Warriors secured their spot in the CSA T20 Challenge playoffs after a convincing 54-run victory against the Tuskers in Pietermaritzburg on Saturday.

After being inserted to bat at the toss, the visitors piled on a total of 181-7 in their 20 overs with Muhammad Manack and Matthew De Villiers both scoring 54.

Returning from Proteas duty in Pakistan, Matthew Breetzke also contributed a handy 39 off 19 balls to place the Warriors in a strong position at the halfway stage.

The Tuskers lost wickets at regular intervals in pursuit of the target and were restricted to 127 all out in 18 overs.

Chad Laycock top-scored with 37 while Ntandoyenkosi Zuma struck 23 but little other contributions from the rest of the batting order.

The Warriors put in a disciplined bowling effort with Kerwin Mungroo, CJ King and wrist-spinner Thomas Kaber taking two wickets apiece.

The CSA T20 Challenge continues on Sunday with the Titans hosting the Lions in the Highveld derby in Centurion while Western Province take on the Dolphins at Newlands.
