After five rounds of matches, last year’s winners of the competition are languishing in bottom place on the table after four losses and one game rained out.
However, Bosch drew encouragement from the fact that one of their rivals have won the tournament having started poorly before, and believes they can do the same.
"Cricket is a funny game. Sunrises Eastern Cape lost three or four games early on a few years ago, but they ended up making the playoffs and won the first edition of the competition.
"We just have to take it one game at a time, this competition is still long."
Bosch admitted that they have not quite clicked in the different departments within the team this season, which they found easier last time around.
He says most of their players – himself included – are yet to find their best form with both bat and ball.
As if their problems are not enough, they host Joburg Super Kings tomorrow - the only team yet to lose a match this season.
He knows that they have to win there to launch any sort of upward trajectory.
Despite not having the best of tournaments at the moment, Bosch is part of the Proteas squad that has been selected for the T20 World Cup from next month, and believes there’s no better way to prepare than to play the SA20.
"It's been a surreal experience. I don't think you believe it until it happens, I've obviously played some good cricket but it is still a nerve wracking wait for that phone call or message.
"There is no better competition than the SA20 to get yourself ready for the World Cup."
