Truter bemoans two points dropped as Figuareido’s miss costs Chippa

The Chilli Boys drew first blood in the first half, when Ntuthuko Mlotswha headed home Justice Figuareido’s cross. 

The visitors drew level in the second half, through Namibian international Tuli-Ngenovali Nashixwa’s scorcher in the 48th minute, but Figuareido could’ve snatched maximum points for Chippa in the 90th minute, but he missed an open net - leading to Truter’s justified reaction...

"I just feel that it's two points dropped because it's our home game according to the fixture, and I really feel like we should've walked away with three points tonight - especially with the big chance Justice Figuareido had at the end. 

"I think it was a good performance in the first half, but we were punished for coming out slow in the second half."

After the first two matches in the league, Chippa remain unbeaten with two points, but with a big home game against Orlando Pirates coming up over the week, but they are still away at the Kings Park Stadium in Durban. Truter stated that they need to improve quickly before then. 

With their two home venues in the Eastern Cape, the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha and Buffalo City Stadium in KuGompo City, still having their pitches under reconstruction, Chippa will play their home games away until the fifth of next month. 

However, Truter expects his team to take advantage when the situation favours them, like last night...

"Based on the balance of play I think a draw is a fair result, and just like us, Richrads Bay also had their phases of attack, but for us during the early stages of the league you want to pick up as many points as possible, especially at these neutral venues."

With the transfer window still open and considering their squad balance, Chippa still look like a team that needs a bit of strengthening up front to add more depth to their attack.
