Tottenham trigger contract extension for long-serving defender Ben Davies

Davies, 31, is now set to enter his 11th campaign with the club, making him Spurs' longest-serving current player. The Wales international joined from Swansea City in 2014, just weeks before Son Heung-min arrived in north London.

Over the past decade, Davies has become a dependable figure in Tottenham's back line, making 358 appearances across all competitions. His versatility - capable of playing as a left-back or in a back three - has made him a valuable asset to multiple managers.

With the club's decision to part ways with Ange Postecoglou on Friday, Davies is poised to work under his sixth permanent head coach at Tottenham during the upcoming campaign.

Despite the team's inconsistent domestic form, which saw Spurs narrowly avoid relegation last season, Davies remains a steady presence both on and off the pitch, and his experience is expected to play a key role as the club prepares for another transition in leadership.
