Tottenham forward Alejo Veliz moves to Sevilla on season-long loan

Tottenham forward Alejo Veliz has joined Sevilla on loan for the rest of the season.

Argentina Under-20 international Veliz only signed for Spurs in August but has played eight times for the Premier League club and scored once.

Veliz, 20, will now spend the second half of the campaign with the LaLiga club, but the deal is a straight loan with no option or obligation to make it permanent.

Ex-Rosario striker Veliz is currently sidelined with a knee injury, although could return to full fitness later this month and will further his development in Spain alongside former Tottenham midfielder Erik Lamela.

Spurs have, meanwhile, managed to beat Barcelona to the signature of highly-rated Swedish teenager Lucas Bergvall.

Midfielder Bergvall had been set to sign for Barca after enjoying a breakthrough season with Djurgarden in the Allsvenskan, but Spurs have convinced the 17-year-old to commit his long-term future to the Premier League outfit after he visited the club on Monday.

Bergvall will undergo a medical in London on Friday before finalising his permanent switch, which will see him link up with Tottenham.
