Tottenham confirm Yves Bissouma departure after expiration of contract

Tottenham have confirmed that Mali international Yves Bissouma will leave the club ahead of next season after the expiration of his contract.

Bissouma joined Spurs in a high-profile transfer from Brighton in 2022 and played a key role in them winning the Europa League triumph last year.

The 29-year-old also had a turbulent spell off the field in London having been twice caught publicly inhaling nitrous oxide, which is widely known as laughing gas.

Bissouma was also suspended for a game by then-Spurs head coach Thomas Frank in August over repeated lateness.

Spurs have also confirmed a group of under-21 players who will leave the club, including Pele Arganese-McDermott, Tyrell Ashcroft, Leo Black, Dante Cassanova, Matthew Craig and Calum Logan.

Another line from Tottenham is that long-serving defender Ben Davies has signed up to stay at the club for his 13th season.

The 33-year-old said: "Tottenham Hotspur really feels like home. It's been a huge part of my football journey and I'm grateful for what the club has given me so far in my career.

"It's been difficult over the past few months, not being able to help the team on the pitch in some tough moments due to injury.

"So, I tried to help the boys off it as much as I could, being a voice in the dressing room and around the group, contributing in any way I could. My heart's on my sleeve for this club and I'll give everything for it."
