Tottenham confirm Senegal star Pape Matar Sarr's fitness for Europa League final

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou announced that Senegal midfielder Pape Matar Sarr will be fit to face Manchester United in the Europa League final.

The 22-year-old had limped off the field in the second half of Spurs 2-0 loss against Aston Villa in their Premier League clash last Friday.

Australian manager Ange Postecoglou revealed his squad update at the final pre-match press conference ahead of the all English Europa League final, confirming that Sarr will play.

"He's fine," was the Australian manager's response when asked about Sarr's availability for the clash. However, he also confirmed that Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall will miss the clash.

Bergvall joins James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski on the injury list, ahead of what could be a historic first Europa League title and the end of a 17-year trophy drought.

The 2022 African Cup of Nations winner Pape Matar Sarr bas been a regular this season, missing only two matches of the Europa League campaign and featuring in 53 matches in all competitions this season. He has also scored six goals whilst providing three assists.

Sarr will be hoping to lift his second trophy of his career, and hopefully a first of many with Spurs ahead of their clash with fellow Premier League strugglers Manchester United at the Estadio de San Mamés in Bilbao tonight.
