Bafana were dealt a major blow as they dropped points in a goalless draw with Zimbabwe on Friday night that left them in second place in Group C with one game to play.
With one final fixture against Rwanda on Tuesday, South Africa need all three points, alongside a win or draw for Nigeria over group leaders Benin, who lead South Africa by two points and two goals.
But they will have to make do without Orlando Pirates skipper Mbokazi, who was red-carded against The Warriors after letting frustration get the better of him in the latter stages of Friday's tie at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Moloisane, who was in Broos' preliminary squad and last featured against Lesotho last month, has since linked up with the Bafana squad ahead of their mist-win clash.
Thabo Moloisane has just arrived in the Bafana Bafana camp in Mbombela, Mpumalanga. He arrived minutes after Bafana Bafana landed from Durban this afternoon. He replaces then suspended Mbekezeli Mbokazi.#BafanaPride@SABC_Sport @flysaa pic.twitter.com/Itkw7cAZIw
