Super Eagles striker earns Luis Garcia backing after standout Sevilla display

After a largely underwhelming campaign, the Nigerian winger was handed a surprise start in Sevilla's narrow 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

He made the most of the opportunity, delivering one of his most complete performances of the season, All Nigeria Soccer reported.

Ejuke's direct running and attacking intent consistently unsettled Sociedad's defence, but it was his discipline without the ball that stood out just as much.

His willingness to track back and contribute defensively played a key role in helping Sevilla maintain their clean sheet.

Speaking ahead of the Espanyol encounter, Garcia indicated that Ejuke has put himself firmly in contention to keep his place - so long as he sustains that level of focus and application.

"If he maintains this level, he'll play. If he's a focused Ejuke, always looking to attack and never losing his way," Garcia was quoted.

The Sevilla boss emphasised that consistent effort on both ends of the pitch will be decisive, making it clear that Ejuke's defensive commitment is now just as important as his attacking flair in determining his role within the team.
