Stefano Pioli insists Samuel Chukwueze will shine in Serie A with AC Milan

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli wants the club's supporters to give Samuel Chukwueze time to adjust to Serie A.

The 24-year-old made the switch from Laliga and Villareal this season after five years with his former club.

He has played 24 times in all competitions, scoring just three times and providing one assist.

He netted for the first time in the league in the 3-1 win over Hellas Verona on Sunday, after coming on as a substitute.

And Pioli is confident there is still a lot more to come from the talented Nigerian winger.

He told DAZN: "It's the story of a foreign player who comes to play in a difficult and complicated league, where the demands are certainly different from those he had at Villarreal.

"He is putting a lot of will and effort into trying to do the best possible."

The Milan boss added: "I believe that too many times judgments are rushed and there is no time to wait. They are guys who come from a different mentality, another way of living and training, another way of playing."
