Spain hand out three first call-ups for Nations League

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente has included three new faces in his squad for the final UEFA Nations League group-stage matches against the Czech Republic and England.

Como defender Jacobo Ramon has earned his first senior international call-up after impressing this season under Cesc Fabregas. The former Spain Under-21 international is joined by Las Palmas goalkeeper Alvaro Valles and Real Betis midfielder Marc Roca.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Pablo Barrios and Real Sociedad winger Ander Barrenetxea also return to the squad.

The changes were forced by injuries to Eric Garcia, Rodri and Dani Olmo, while Roberto Fernandez has retained his place in the attacking department.

Spain travel to Prague to face the Czech Republic on Thursday, 12 November, before hosting England at Atletico Madrid's Metropolitano Stadium on Sunday, 15 November.

De la Fuente began his squad announcement with a tribute to the victims of the Ordax train accident and the late Jesus de Miguel.

Spain have already secured their place in the Nations League quarter-finals after winning all four of their group matches to collect 12 points.

They now have top spot firmly in their sights, with home advantage in the second leg of the quarter-finals at stake. The group winners will play the first leg away from home before returning to Spain for the decisive encounter.

England are second on nine points and will face Croatia at Wembley before travelling to Madrid. A victory over Croatia would set up a potentially decisive showdown with Spain for first place.
