Report: Newcastle rejected big bid from Liverpool for Bruno Guimaraes

Liverpool reportedly made a £100million bid for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, as the transfer window neared its close.

Despite securing the signing of young talent Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich, the Reds were actively exploring other options.

This bid, reported by AS, signaled Liverpool's willingness to break their previous transfer record, set at £75million when they acquired Virgil van Dijk in 2018.

However, Newcastle swiftly rejected the offer, as they are not inclined to part ways with their key assets, especially with their imminent return to the Champions League after a two-decade absence.

Though Financial Fair Play regulations will need to be adhered to, Newcastle remain firm in their decision not to sell Bruno Guimaraes.

Still, Liverpool's interest in the midfielder persists, with reports suggesting they may revisit the possibility of his acquisition in the near future.

Liverpool might hope for an opportunity to secure Bruno's services, either in the upcoming January transfer window or the following summer, should Newcastle consider a sale as a means to bolster their financial position.

While the club did secure Lewis Hall on a loan with an obligation to buy, a potential £100million transfer could expedite their financial goals.
