PSL wrap: Sekhukhune held at home by Citizens, Amazulu and Polokwane in stalemate

Sekhukhune United were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Cape Town City while Amazulu and Polokwane City could not be separated at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

High-flying Sekhukhune United held to draw by Cape Town City

Sekhukhune United winning streak came to an end in a 2-2 draw with Cape Town City in a thrilling battle at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when Ahshene Jody Lee found the back of the net to put City on the front foot.

However, Sekhukhune wasted little time as they responded a mere five minutes later with Linda Mntambo scoring the first of his two goals of the night.

Mntambo turned the tables on City shortly before the break as he completed his brace to give the home team the advantage at 2-1.

The Hedgehog looked set to extend their winning run in the league to six games, but a leveller in just past the hour mark helped City claim a point as the match ended in a draw.

Amazulu and Polokwane in goalless stalemate at Moses Mabhida

Amazulu and Polokwane City could not be separated as they played to a goalless stalemate in their PSL clash at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The point does not really help either team as they battle to end the campaign in the top-eight positions in the league standings.

Usuthu stay 11th having accumulated 25 points after 22 matches while Polokwane are a place three points ahead of their opponents having played a game less.
