PSL wrap: Polokwane seal second win, Amazulu and Richards Bay remain winless

Polokwane City made it two victories from three matches in South Africa's top-flight after a sweeping aside fellow promoted club Cape Town Spurs 3-1 at the Peter Mokaba stadium.

The home side took the lead after 15 minutes Oswin Appollis was fed by Douglas Mapfumo before firing a low shot past Spurs' goalkeeper Zama Dlamini.

Rise and Shine then extended their lead on the hour mark when Mapfumo found the back of the net with a header after an inch-perfect cross.

The game was as good as done with 10 minutes remaining when Polokwane made it 3-0 with Appollis bagging his brace following a close-range finish.

The Cape side pulled a goal back through substitute Khaya Mfecane but it was a third consecutive defeat for the newly-promoted club as they struggle to adapt to the top-flight.

Amazulu 0-0 Richards Bay

Amazulu and Richards Bay remain winless after three matches in the PSL after playing to a goalless draw at the Moses Mabhida stadium.

It was a third consecutive stalemate with no goals for Usuthu with new coach Pablo Franco Martin cutting a frustrated figure on the touchline.

It was a first point of the campaign for Richards Bay after they suffered losses in their opening two encounters, against SuperSport United and Golden Arrows respectively.
