PSG score twice late to snatch Lille draw in Ligue 1

Lille looked to be heading for a famous win after taking a two-goal lead, but Vitinha inspired a remarkable late fightback from the reigning champions.

PSG had the first major chance of the match when Lille goalkeeper Berke Ozer made a costly mistake. The ball fell kindly for Achraf Hakimi, but the defender could only curl his left-footed effort against the outside of the post.

At the other end, Matvey Safonov reacted well to deny Olivier Giroud from close range as both sides made an attacking start to the game.

Giroud then played a key role in Lille taking the lead midway through the first half. The veteran striker produced a clever reverse pass to release Hakon Haraldsson, who fired a powerful first-time shot past Safonov.

Haraldsson's first goal of the season gave Lille a deserved 1-0 lead at the break.

Luis Enrique responded by bringing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia into the game for the second half, and the Georgian winger quickly showed his danger with a curling effort that narrowly missed the target.

PSG dominated possession and pushed for an equaliser, while Lille dropped deeper and defended their advantage.

However, the home side remained dangerous on the counter-attack. Giroud went close to extending the lead when his header bounced over the crossbar.

Lille did eventually score a second goal, and it was a moment to remember for Dilane Bakwa. The winger found space inside the PSG area before bending a superb left-footed shot into the far corner.

Bakwa's first goal for Lille appeared to have sealed a memorable victory for Ancelotti.

But PSG refused to give up.

Vitinha started the comeback with a stunning strike from the edge of the penalty area that beat Ozer and gave the visitors hope deep into added time.

The Portuguese midfielder then created the equaliser in the 95th minute, delivering a lofted cross for Marquinhos to power a header into the net.

PSG had rescued another point from two goals down, extending their unbeaten run against Lille to 11 competitive matches.

The result was a frustrating end to the evening for Lille, who briefly moved to the top of the Ligue 1 table, while PSG finished the day in sixth place after their remarkable late escape.
