Premier League: Tottenham Hotspur lose to Fulham to extend winless run

Tottenham Hotspur succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Fulham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday to extend their winless streak to four matches in all competitions.

The visitors came out firing for the first half with Kenny Tete's strike giving Fulham the lead in the fourth minute before Harry Wilson doubled the lead just two minutes later.

Spurs struggled to find a goal back into the match, managing only one shot on target as before the half-time break.

However, the home side returned with determination and were rewarded in the 59th minute through a Mohamed Kudus goal following a Lucas Bergvall assist.

The Coys desperately pressed for an equalizer but failed to breach the resolute Fulham defence again, with Xavi Simons coming closest to scoring during Tottenham's onslaught.

"Of course, this is a tough one," said Spurs manager Thomas Frank after the match.

"We prepared everything, players ready and then after six minutes we're down 2-0. That's a classic example when a team is struggling a little bit and it's not straightforward, smooth, the momentum and the easy wins.

"Sometimes you just have a spell that is tough and we just need to keep working through it, keep going forward, keep doing everything we can to improve it - then we all know we will turn it around."The result sees Spurs drop to tenth on the Premier League table whilst the Cottagers remain in 15th.
