Premier League: Liverpool slump to defeat at Anfield, Chelsea win at Burnley

Liverpool slumped to an embarrassing 3-0 defeat at home against Nottingham Forest while Chelsea scored in each half for a 2-0 victory away at Burnley.

Forest embarrass Reds at Anfield

Liverpool's poor run of form continued after going down a big defeat at Anfield against Nottingham Forest.

The visitors took the lead just after the half hour mark when defender Murillo fired in from close-range after a scramble in the box.

Nottingham Forest doubled their advantage when Nicolo Savona scored just 40 seconds into the second half.

Liverpool were huffing and puffing but could not break the visitors down and Forest went up the other end got a third goal through Morgan Gibbs-White with 12 minutes remaining.

Blues continue good form with solid performance

Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez scored a goal late in each half, respectively, as Chelsea beat Burnley 2-0 at Turf Moor on Saturday.

The home team were valiant for most of the first half but the Blues found the breakthrough seven minutes before halftime when Jamie Gittens sent in a cross that Neto headed in at the back-post.

The home side had decent attempts to get the equaliser after the halftime break but then conceded late on.

Chelsea sealed the win in the 89th minute when Enzo found the back of the net with a precise effort that beat home goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

It was a seventh victory in 12 Premier League games this season for Chelsea with a fixture against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League coming up midweek.
