The forward has signed a two-year deal with the French club with who he scored 30 goals in the 2023-2024 campaign before joining Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Qadsiah.
The Gabon international netted 17 times in 32 appearances for Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League but has decided to return to Europe with a club he is familiar with.
Aubameyang, in quotes published on the French club's website, said: "When Marseille called, it was a no-brainer... It was a choice from the heart.
"And with the Champions League, it'll be the first time I'll hear that anthem in the stadium, so itâs going to be something special."
Marseille head aoch Roberto De Zeri added: "He's a super player, a great person. I was disappointed when he left last season."
The 36-year-old Aubameyang has also previously played for Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea.
