Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looking forward to Champions League after Marseille return

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is looking forward to this season's UEFA Champions League campaign after officially returning to Olympique Marseille.

The forward has signed a two-year deal with the French club with who he scored 30 goals in the 2023-2024 campaign before joining Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Qadsiah.

The Gabon international netted 17 times in 32 appearances for Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League but has decided to return to Europe with a club he is familiar with.

Aubameyang, in quotes published on the French club's website, said: "When Marseille called, it was a no-brainer... It was a choice from the heart.

"And with the Champions League, it'll be the first time I'll hear that anthem in the stadium, so itâ™s going to be something special."

Marseille head aoch Roberto De Zeri added: "He's a super player, a great person. I was disappointed when he left last season."

The 36-year-old Aubameyang has also previously played for Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea.
