Sevilla striker Akor Adams expressed gratitude after coming on as a substitute to score the winner for Sevilla in the 1-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
The 25-year-old came off the bench in the 69th minute, threatening Rayo's goal before connecting with a cross from Jose Angel Carmona to seal the win at the Estadio de Vallecas Stadium.
"Before talking about myself, I think it was a great game for the team, with a strong fight and a good mentality," said Adams to reporters after the match.
"I had the opportunity to come on, I was prepared and working hard, and I'm very grateful for the opportunity.
"We didn't give up. We have a top mentality in the group. The coach (Matias Almeyda) has confidence in what we can do, and it shows in the games," concluded the former Montpellier forward.
The victory sees Seville jump from 12th to ninth position on the LaLiga table ahead of their fixture against log leaders Barcelona on Sunday before the international break.
Adams is yet to receive a call up to the Nigeria senior team, having previously made appearances for the Nigeria u20 side.
