Nani: Ruben Amorim can succeed at Man Utd, just needs time

Former Manchester United winger Nani has expressed confidence that the club are in safe hands under current head coach Ruben Amorim, despite the team's ongoing struggles.

Nani, who spent eight years at Old Trafford and won four Premier League titles under Sir Alex Ferguson, acknowledges that United have endured a tough period this season and over the past decade. Yet, he remains optimistic about the club's direction under Amorim.

Since taking over at United, Amorim has found it difficult to deliver consistent results in the league. The team's performances have been inconsistent, with questions raised about both tactics and squad depth.

Nani admitted the team is currently "lacking quality" in certain areas but emphasised that Amorim should not be judged too quickly.

Despite the club's decline in domestic success, Nani insists United remain the biggest club in the world when it comes to global attention and support.

"I think we have a great coach," Nani told The National. "We all know that it's a matter of time. It's a big club.

"It's a big pressure for everyone who comes next [after] a very good generation with a lot of success. So everyone who comes to the club, you know, they have a lot of work to do. I always say it's a matter of time."

"I think the coach is the right coach. We have some world-class players. We need to bring some more quality and in the future we will get back to our normal life.

"I think [Amorim] is a great coach. He just needs time to adapt and learn more [about] how to play the game in the Premier League. How to put the best teams on the field in the right games because every game is different, every team is different, so he needs to learn that.

"The secret before with Ferguson was he knew which team [he needed to pick] to win that game, so I think that's the problem."
