Morgan Rogers among four Chelsea players who could make debuts against Real Sociedad

The 117-million-pound signing from Aston Villa has yet to feature for his new club after being required to take a three-week holiday following England's World Cup campaign.

Rogers helped the Three Lions defeat France in the bronze final on 18 July before returning to Cobham, where he has begun a brief pre-season programme.

Chelsea will make a late decision on whether the 23-year-old is included in the squad after completing five friendlies, including victories over Western Sydney Wanderers and AC Milan.

"I'm so excited," Rogers said after signing for the Blues.

"For me, Chelsea are the biggest club in London and a club I've always admired since I was a kid.

"I'm really excited about the project with the new manager, the players we've got and where the club is heading.

"That's why I'm here and I can't wait to get started."

Rogers could be joined by three other potential debutants. Maxence Lacroix, Valentin Barco and Jordan Henderson all started working at Cobham on Tuesday.

Henderson trained without the arm cast he had been wearing and is regarded as fully fit after recovering from a freak injury sustained during England's celebrations following their match against Mexico, which ruled him out of the rest of the tournament.

Reece James, Malo Gusto and Enzo Fernandez also took part in the session. Fernandez's involvement comes as uncertainty continues to surround his future at Stamford Bridge.
