Michael Olise chases history as Bayern Munich host Frankfurt

Michael Olise will step onto the pitch this weekend for Bayern Munich with more than just three points on his mind.

The Bayern Munich winger is on the verge of matching a remarkable Bundesliga assist record when his side face Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

Olise has been outstanding throughout the 2025/26 campaign. In just 21 Bundesliga appearances, he has scored 10 goals and delivered 18 assists. His creativity has been central to Bayern's attacking dominance this season.

What makes his current run even more impressive is consistency. The Frenchman has registered at least one assist in six consecutive league matches. If he sets up a goal against Frankfurt, he will equal the Bundesliga record of seven straight games with an assist.

Only two former Bayern players have achieved that feat: Douglas Costa and Thomas Muller. Matching their record would underline just how influential Olise has become in Munich.

There is more at stake than a single record. Olise is also closing in on the Bundesliga's single-season assist mark. He needs four more assists to surpass Muller's 21 from the 2019/20 campaign, which remains the highest total ever recorded in one season.

Muller also holds the all-time Bundesliga assist record with 178. Olise, by comparison, has 36 Bundesliga assists so far in his career, meaning he still has a long journey ahead to challenge that historic milestone.

For now, though, all eyes will be on Saturday. If Olise produces one more decisive pass, he will write his name alongside two Bayern greats and take another major step towards an extraordinary season.
