Michael Carrick chuffed to have Marcus Rashford back at Man Utd

Rashford has re-joined United for pre-season after spending the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Barcelona. The 28-year-old featured 32 times for the Catalan side, scoring eight goals and supplying seven assists as they lifted both LaLiga and the Supercopa de Espana.

One of his standout moments came in the Clasico, when Rashford converted a free-kick against Real Madrid in the game that clinched Barcelona's league title.

Despite his contribution, Barcelona opted against making the transfer permanent and instead brought in Anthony Gordon.

Rashford has consequently returned to Old Trafford, with Carrick making clear that the England international remains part of United's plans.

"He's our player. He's come back great, like any other player," said Carrick about Rashford.

"I've known him a long time, he gives us something a bit different. He's been in great spirits since he's been back, he's been back two or three days."

Rashford has already made 287 appearances for United, scoring 87 goals and providing 40 assists. He previously spent a brief period on loan at Aston Villa in 2024-25, but is now back with his parent club and preparing for the new campaign.
