McFarlane issues Chelsea squad update ahead of important Liverpool showdown

Chelsea interim head coach Calum McFarlane has issued an squad update ahead of their crucial Premier League fixture against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

The Blues will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 3-1 loss to Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge on Monday which saw them drop to ninth on the league table.

Manager Calum McFarlane has updated the media about squad availability ahead of the clash as they look to return to the European qualification spots.

"We've got a few lads returning," said McFarlane  at the pre-match conference at Cobham.

"Levi [Colwill] has trained a full week with us, and so has Reece[ James], so it's really positive with those two. We've still got another session [before facing Liverpool], but both trained fully today and weâ™re hopeful [that they could start].

"Pedro Neto and Garnacho are both carrying knocks and itâ™s unlikely that they will be available. While Rob wonâ™t be available after the injury he sustained against Nottingham Forest."

Chelsea will be also be looking to continue their two match winning streak against the Reds in the league, having won the first round clash 2-1 at home in October last year.
