Mbeumo ready for 'difficult' Man United challenge ahead of Aston Villa clash

The Reds host the Villans at Old Trafford in a clash between two underperforming sides in the league this season.

United currently sit in the relegation zone in 18th position while Villa occupies 12th spot on the Premier League table, but Cameroonian Mbeumo is looking forward to the challenge.

"Obviously, we have faced a not great one [period]," said Mbeumo to the club's media.

"But what we want is to come back and we can do our best and, yeah, meet the expectation we had at the start of this season.

"They're [Villa] obviously a very difficult team to play. Ever since I've been in the Premier League, they've always been like a very good side in the league so obviously we're expecting a very tough match.

"But these matches are also the better ones to play, and we are really happy to get the challenge. They have very good players. They are a very good team. We know what they can do. So, it's going to be on us to be ready for that."

Michael Carrick's side will be also looking to end a seven-match winless run in the league in this fixture against Unai Emery's side.
