Mats Hummels praises Dortmund faithful after AC Milan victory

After the 3-1 win over AC Milan, Mats Hummels shared his perspective on the match and on the battle for top spot with Paris Saint-Germain.

Dortmund retained top spot in the group with goals from Marco Reus, Karim Adeyemi and Jamie Baynoe-Gittens, while Samuel Chukwueze netted for the Rossoneri.

Hummels speaking in the aftermath of the match said: "I think that we got a deserved win. If you disregard the way that we played out many of our attacks in the first half, when we had a lot of space, we played a good all-round game. We were well in the match from the beginning and were able to take away a lot of the atmosphere with possession. It's unbelievably good fun to play Champions League football in a stadium like this. I told the boys that they should not be influenced by it but inspired by it.

"We have to deliver once again in two weeks. If it's only first place at stake, it will be a wonderful occasion in a wonderful atmosphere. We've now grown and are a squad that is ready to work on the pitch. We've only had slip-ups against Bayern, in Stuttgart, which felt like a 4-0 defeat, and in Paris."
