Manchester City's Pep Guardiola showers Erling Haaland with praise amid exit rumours

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola praised in-form striker Erling Haaland, who is rumoured to be unsettled ahead of the Premier League clash against Brentford.

The Norwegian forward has hit the ground running this season, scoring 11 goals and providing one assist in eight appearances in all competitions, failing only to score in one match.

However, recent reports have suggested that the striker is unsettled at the club following some unfavourable results in recent months.

Man City manager Pep Guardiola has conceded that his star attacker would always be in demand on the market but is confident that he will keep impressing for the Citizens.

"Can you tell me one club who wouldn't want Haaland as a dream (signing)?" said the Spanish boss at pre-match news conference.

"I understand it's a dream for all the clubs in the world, if he wasn't at City, it would be a dream to have Erling. He has a long contract here and is doing very well, scoring a lot of goals."

Haaland extended his contract with City in January for an unprecedented ten years until the summer of 2034.

"I think Erling's not stupid enough to sign something he doesn't want to accomplish, but football, who knows what will happen," concluded Guardiola.

Manchester City will face the Bees at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday.
