Man City striker Erling Haaland targets 100 Premier League goal milestone at Newcastle

Erling Haaland will be eyeing his 100th Premier League goal on Saturday, as Manchester City travel to St James' Park to face Newcastle United.

Since joining the Citizens in 2022, the Norwegian striker has already struck 99 goals in 108 Premier League appearances.

That puts him on the cusp of surpassing Alan Shearer, who holds the record for the fastest to 100 Premier League goals at 124 games.

This season alone, Haaland has scored 14 league goals in 11 matches, helping City climb to second in the table, just four points adrift of top-placed Arsenal.

Interestingly, Haaland's record against Newcastle has not mirrored his usual dominance. He has faced the Magpies on six occasions for City, winning four and drawing twice, but has only one goal and two assists across all those matches.

His lone goal came in a dramatic 3-3 draw at St James' Park in August 2022, when he curled in a left-footed strike.

He later set up a Bernardo Silva goal in the reverse fixture at the Etihad and also provided an assist in a 4-0 win in February 2025, when James McAtee tucked in the fourth after Omar Marmoush's hat-trick.

Haaland has yet to score in any of his four home outings against Newcastle, but he has one goal from two away matches. With that in mind, he will be hoping to cross the 100-goal threshold on his next trip to Tyneside.

If he does, he would smash one of the most enduring records in English football, all while reaffirming his place as one of the most prolific finishers the Premier League has ever seen.
