Man City snap up highly-rated winger Mathys Detourbet from sister club Troyes

Manchester City have completed the signing of highly-rated French youngster Mathys Detourbet from fellow City Football Group club Troyes in a deal reportedly worth 25 million euros.

The 19-year-old winger, who joined Troyes' academy at the age of eight, played a key role in the club's promotion back to Ligue 1 last season. Detourbet made 27 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing seven assists as Troyes won the Ligue 2 title.

A creative and direct attacker, the France youth international also topped the club's dribbling statistics and finished among their leading contributors in front of goal, performances that attracted interest from several clubs across Europe.

However, Manchester City were well placed to secure his signature given Troyes' place within the City Football Group network, which comprises 12 clubs worldwide and is headed by the Premier League champions.

Neither club disclosed the financial details of the transfer or the length of Detourbet's contract at the Etihad Stadium. Reports in France suggest the teenager will spend the 2026-27 season on loan at Monaco, with the Ligue 1 side agreeing a deal that includes an option to buy.

Troyes paid tribute to their academy graduate in a statement, saying: "Troyes is particularly proud to have supported Mathys' growth both as a player and as a man. The whole club warmly thanks him for his commitment and professionalism and wishes him every success in the rest of his career."
