The Colombian, secured from Liverpool days ago in a headline-grabbing transfer, has wasted no time showcasing his flair for the German giants, quieting skeptics with electrifying performances.
Max Eberl, Bayern's board member for sport, dismissed concerns over Diaz's age and price, focusing on his elite quality. "Squad balance matters, but quality is king," Eberl told Kicker.
"Luis delivers pace, goals, assists, one-on-one magic, and reliability with consistent appearances. Age is just one piece of the puzzle."
Diaz starred in Bayern's 2-1 friendly win over Lyon on August 2, where his relentless runs down the left flank earned a penalty that led to Michael Olise's opening goal.
He followed up with another eye-catching performance in a 3-0 thrashing of Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg on August 4, assisting Harry Kane's goal with a pinpoint cross and nearly scoring himself with a curling shot that hit the post.
German media hailed his "explosive impact," while Bayern's official X account posted, "Lucho's on fire! #ServusLuis," alongside clips of his Lyon and Salzburg highlights.
The former Porto star, who netted 41 goals in 148 Liverpool appearances, signed a four-year contract until 2029, with an option for an additional year.
CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said, "Luis brings a proven winner's mentality from Liverpool. He's a top international who'll light up the Bundesliga."
Diaz echoed the ambition, stating, "Joining Bayern is a dream. I'm here to win every trophy possible, and we'll fight for it every day."
With Bayern targeting Bundesliga and Champions League success, Diaz's early heroics in the Lyon and Salzburg friendlies signal their big investment is already paying dividends.
