Luis Boa Morte lands Guinea-Bissau post

Fulham first-team coach Luis Boa Morte will take charge of Guinea-Bissau at the end of the current Premier League season.

The 46-year-old former Sporting, Arsenal, Southampton, Fulham and Orlando Pirates attacker has held a number of coaching roles since his retirement, including as assistant manager at Sporting, Maccabi Haifa and Everton.

He has been with Fulham since 2021, working under current head coach Marco Silva.

A statement from the Cottagers read: "Everyone at Fulham would like to thank Boa for his efforts since his return to the club, and wishes him the best of luck in this next chapter when he departs following our season finale away to Luton Town."

This will be just Boa Morte's second job as head coach, alongside his assistant roles, having previously been in charge of Portuguese fourth-tier side Sintrense.
