Liverpool missing six players for Man City clash

The eagerly anticipated Premier League title clash between Liverpool and Manchester City is set to be marred by the absence of seven key players due to injury.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side will host the reigning champions at Anfield this Sunday afternoon.

Liverpool enters the encounter fresh from a controversial victory over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, while Pep Guardiola's City team is riding high after a commanding win over Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite both teams being eager to gain the upper hand in the title race, City will enjoy a slight advantage with an extra day's rest.

While Liverpool faces a challenging trip to the Czech Republic to take on Sparta Prague in the Europa League round of 16 first-leg on Thursday night, City will have had more time to recuperate.

Adding to Liverpool's challenge, the Anfield club will be juggling European commitments as they host Copenhagen in the Champions League round of 16 second leg on Wednesday evening.

However, City currently holds a commanding 3-1 aggregate lead in their tie, offering them a potentially smoother path to the title showdown.

City will be missing Jack Grealish for the clash, while Liverpool are without Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones, Thiago Alcantara, and Joel Matip.
