According to reports from RMC Sport, Rosenior was set to replace Antoine Kombouare, whose future at the club had become uncertain following discussions over a new agreement.
The English coach had only recently left Chelsea in April and was now preparing for another challenge in France after previously managing Strasbourg. Paris FC had also held talks with Morocco head coach Walid Regragui, but Rosenior appeared to have emerged as the preferred candidate.
French journalist Daniel Riolo revealed that negotiations between Paris FC and Kombouare had broken down after the club were unwilling to meet some of the manager's demands.
"Of course, Paris FC has resources, but they don't seem willing to agree to everything, especially Antoine Kombouare's demands for more money," Riolo said on l'After Foot.
"The talks dragged on to the point that the management got tired, and it's over. There were also discussions with Walid Regragui. There were two or three meetings, but apparently Rosenior is the one they've chosen."
Kombouare had only taken charge of Paris FC at the end of February 2026 and helped guide the club to a mid-table finish. The experienced coach had recently insisted he expected to return for pre-season preparations, saying he would be "back for the restart" on Wednesday.
However, Paris FC appeared to have made a different decision as they looked to begin the new campaign under Rosenior's leadership.
The move would give Rosenior another opportunity to build his reputation in France after his previous spell at Strasbourg, while Paris FC hoped his modern coaching approach could help the club continue its progress.
