Leicester's Abdul Fatawu shines bright in crucial victory

Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca expressed his satisfaction with the performance of Ghanaian talent Abdul Fatawu.

This following his standout display in the hard-fought 2-1 triumph over West Bromwich Albion.

Fatawu, currently on loan from Sporting Lisbon, played a pivotal role in securing victory by providing the crucial assist, outmanoeuvring his marker before delivering a precise cross that found the foot of seasoned striker Jamie Vardy.

With this win, Leicester edges closer to a swift return to the Premier League, reclaiming the top spot in the English Championship standings.

"We aimed to integrate them into our squad and utilize long balls for Stephy Mavididi, for Abdul Fatawu; it was part of our tactical approach. I'm thrilled for him (Ndidi), delighted for all of them. There's never any doubt about Jamie, absolutely," stated Maresca in his post-match remarks.

Wilfred Ndidi kickstarted the scoring for Leicester in the 22nd minute, seizing an opportunity in the box to slot the ball into the top corner.

Issahaku showcased his creative flair with a sublime lofted cross into the box, expertly met by Vardy to seal the victory.

Despite a late goal from West Bromwich Albion's Jed Wallace in the 76th minute, Leicester held firm to clinch the crucial three points.

The victory maintains Leicester City's position at the summit of the table, amassing 91 points from 43 fixtures. Their next test awaits against fourth-placed Southampton.
