Konrad Laimer returns to Austria Nations League squad in Bayern fitness boost

The 29-year-old midfielder missed Austria's 3-1 wins over Israel and Kosovo in the UEFA Nations League last week while continuing his rehabilitation.

Laimer also sat out Bayern's 7-0 Bundesliga victory over Union Berlin before the international break as he worked his way back to full fitness.

His return to the Austria squad suggests he is making good progress and could put him in contention for Bayern's next Bundesliga match against Augsburg.

Laimer could even feature during the international break, with Austria facing Ireland on October 1 before meeting Kosovo again on October 4.

Bayern will travel to the WWK Arena to face Augsburg on Saturday, October 10, when the Bundesliga resumes.
