Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos to stay at Real Madrid - report

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti expects veterans Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos to stay at the club.

The trio's contracts with Los Blancos are set to expire at the end of the season, sparking rumours about their potential departures from the La Liga club.

However, during a press conference on Friday, Ancelotti revealed that he believes the three players will remain with the Spanish giants for the upcoming season.

"They are advancing, because they are talking," said Ancelotti at a press conference when asked about midfielders Modric and Kroos' contract negotiations. "I think that in the end they will look for a solution, there are advances."

The Italian also expressed his confidence that striker Benzema, who recently scored a hat-trick in Real Madrid's 4-0 win over Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semi-final, will stay with the club as well.

"I think (the three) will stay," said Ancelotti. "But we have to think about the day they stop too, because, for the fact they have something unique, something will have to change."

Despite being past their physical peaks, Ancelotti still believed that the trio have a lot to offer the team.

"You can think the three don't have the physical profile or energy of the younger players, but what these three have in terms of game management is unique," he said. "You can't buy it on any market in the world."

While Ancelotti hoped to keep Benzema, Modric and Kroos, he also acknowledged that the club must begin looking towards the future.

"We have fantastic young players...who will mark an era at Madrid, but in a different way to Kroos, Modric and Casemiro," he said.

Madrid are set to face Villarreal in La Liga on Saturday, followed by a Champions League quarter-final first leg match against Chelsea on Wednesday.
