Ivan Rakitic: Barcelona 'at their very best' can claim Champions League title

Former Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has voiced his belief that the Catalan giants could be on course for another historic treble, though he admits it will be tough.

Rakitic, a key figure in the legendary 2015 Barcelona side that clinched the treble under Luis Enrique, reflected on the club's current resurgence and praised new manager Hansi Flick for restoring a sense of clarity and purpose.

"We have to give credit to the club for betting on him. He has brought personality and identity to the team," Rakitic said about Flick.

Barcelona's recent Copa del Rey triumph has reignited talk of a potential treble, and with the club now sitting four points clear of Real Madrid at the top of LaLiga, confidence is growing among the fanbase.

The next step in their ambitious pursuit comes on Wednesday night, when Barcelona host Inter in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final - a stage they've struggled to reach in recent years. Rakitic remains cautiously optimistic.

"It's difficult, but it's possible," said Rakitic when asked about a potential treble for Barcelona.

"The Champions League is wide open, and Barcelona are still in the race. I believe in the players, the coaching staff, and the manager. But they will need to be at their very best."
