The former City manager admitted he is not thinking about his next coaching job despite recent speculation linking him with the Italy national team.
Speaking in an interview with cryptocurrency trading company OKX, Guardiola said he is enjoying the opportunity to step away from football for the first time in many years.
"Mentally, I don't feel like I'm missing anything," Guardiola said. "I don't think that in two weeks or a month I'll have to start all over again. I'm simply trying to figure out what my life will be like now."
The 56-year-old explained that family has been one of the biggest reasons behind his decision to take a break. He wants to spend more time with his children, his 95-year-old father and his siblings after years of managing at the highest level.
"I want to take a bit of care of myself and spend much more time with my children, my father who is 95 and still here, my sisters and my brother," he said.
Guardiola insisted he has not ruled out returning to management one day, but stressed there is no timetable for a comeback.
"We'll see if I miss it, and if someone wants me I'll come back. Otherwise, I'll keep going like this," Guardiola said. "I'm not young anymore. I'm not 35, 37 or 40. I'm already 56, so my perspective will be a bit different."
The Spaniard also admitted he wants to explore life beyond football, having spent almost his entire career either playing or coaching.
"The only thing I know how to do is play football or coach," he said. "So why not try to discover a new life, to be happy and fulfilled as a human being by doing other things, not just those related to football?
"I'll try to enjoy other things I've never done before, and we'll see what happens."
