The 30-year-old recommitted himself to the Tshwane giants earlier this year, describing the decision as a “no-brainer” despite reported interest from other Betway Premiership rivals.
Ahead of Saturday’s MTN8 final against Orlando Pirates, Mkhulise explained that the way Sundowns is run was among the key reasons he chose to remain.
"I'm in my happy place and it feels like I'm at home here at Sundowns, so for me to sign the new contract was a no brainer. The leadership inspires us and they keep us motivated to give our best for the badge - that is what has kept me here for so long."
Mkhulise added that he wanted to be part of the squad that ends Pirates’ stronghold on the MTN8 as they’ve dominated the competition over the last four seasons.
Tickets for the final were sold out in less than 24 hours after going on sale and Mkhulise believes it is the two club’s responsibility to make the fixture a spectacle.
The midfielder added that he would be ready if called on to feature given the doubts over Teboho Mokoena and Bathusi Aubaas.
