Grobler was introduced on the hour mark in their 1-1 draw with Kaizer Chiefs at FNB stadium last night, his fourth game from the bench and seventh appearance overall in the 2026/27 Betway Premiership campaign.
Hunt says the 38-year-old, who’s second on the PSL’s all-time scorers’ list behind Peter Shalulile with 130 goals, will find the back of the net regularly once he finds his way back to full fitness.
"He is not going to play for us in every single game because he is 38 after all. We lost one or two players and we've had one or two emergencies.
"As long as he breaks the record and I believe he will score five or six more goals this season if not more, we just need a proper run of home games."
Hunt says their struggles at times this season have been due to the fact that they’ve had a lot of players out with injury, and have not been able to put out a consistent line-up
They’ve played five official away games in their eight matches so far in the league but also had to play some home games out of the Western Cape, something he says has affected them.
"We play away all the time and people tend to forget that. We've also had to blood in many youngsters which takes time and patience, and the lack of home games has also made that process more difficult."
Stellies played no less than four of Chiefs’ former players who joined them this season with Given Msimango, George Matlou, Njabulo Blom, and Ashley du Preez all starting the game.
He says he wasn’t relying on any particular intel from the quartet about their former team.
